This art-deco poster, depicting Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf, was published  in the US between 1936 and 1939 to encourgare reading. It is one of about two thousand posters of the Federal Art Project, the Works Progress Administration’s program to fund visual arts. The WPA was a public body in charge of public works and promoting federal programs such as tourism, culture and literacy. It was established as part of the “New Deal“, a series of domestic programs promoted by US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt between 1933 and 1937 in response to Great Depression.
