Zaporizhia automobile building plant in 1970s
ZAZ is the main automobile manufacturer of Ukraine, based in the south-eastern city of Zaporizhia: its name is in fact the acronym of “Zaporiz’kyj Avtomobilebudivel’nyj Zavod” (Ukrainian: ЗАЗ, Запорізький автомобілебудівельний завод), meaning exactly “Zaporizhia automobile building plant”. Pitsunda or Bichvinta (Georgian) is a resort town in Abkhazia, on the Black Sea. The Krasnojarsk dam (Russia) on the Yenisey river in a 1975 photo. Built between 1956 and 1972, it is 124-metre (407 ft) high, 1 065 m (3 494 ft) long and its reservoir (known as “Krasnoyarsk Sea”) has an area of 2 000 square kilometres (770 sq mi).
